January 12 was a good day for the parents of 24th Street Elementary School here in Los Angeles.
At 10 am, the Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa came over to the local park to enthusiastically announce his support for the parents effort to turnaround their failing school through the parent trigger process.
Later that day, the Los Angeles School Board would unanimously approve the parents' petition!
It was a good day for the 24th Street Elementary School community - with the promise of an even better school this coming fall!
