Shirley Ford bio
Shirley has been with the Los Angeles Parents Union since the beginning, founding the organization along with Mary. Her passion for parents rights and educating our children comes from her own experience raising her boys. Two of her sons, Robert and Hamid, were given the opportunity to attend Green Dot public schools, and are now both in college with scholarships. Shirley has seen firsthand that great public schools are possible, and is passionate about making sure they are available reality for every child.
Shirley is not only the mother of three wonderful sons, but also a proud grandmother of two. She was born in Houston, Texas, but has lived her entire adult life here in Los Angeles.
